Just when you begin to think that you’ve seen the best of fashion, Malaika Arora decides that you haven’t and shows up in experimental attires that are bound to make your heart flutter. Today is one such day, and we’re not even trying to move over the upcycled saree Malaika Arora just wore.
The year 2017 will very well be remembered for its fascinating and mind-boggling fashion experiments, especially the ones involving the lovely traditional, Indian saree. From loud metallic sarees to sublime fringe sarees, the infusion and blend of elements into the nine yard knew no bounds. While some of these experiments were simply heart-warming, others broke our hearts. Malaika Arora, however, has added another number to the list of droolworthy upcycled sarees, we can’t really wait to lay our hands on.
The gorgeous diva draped an Amit Aggarwal hybrid-saree in the hues of maroon and brown, without a petticoat. No kidding. Draping it like a dhoti, she teamed the geometric-printed garment with a brown blouse boasting of a peplum.
It was really interesting to see her keeping it utterly ethnic with her dhoti-like styling while adding a western touch with a peplum-blouse that looked just so trendy. The blouse added an element of elegance with its vintage-y Queen Anne neckline that contrasted beautifully with the trendy peplum.
Adding a pop of metal with her rose-gold pumps, Malaika finished the look without any accessories and a basic low-pony.
With rose-hued makeup and classy-yet-casual attire, Malaika set some really high festive-dressing standards for us.
